We thought it was time you met our fabulous team – so here’s a little intro to the awesome carpenters that make up English Oak Buildings!
Mat Hulford
unnamed-55
Mat is our workshop manager, and has been at EOB since the beginning, meaning he’s the longest standing member of the team bar Rory and Mark!
What’s your favourite EOB project? The house in Ardgroom in Ireland (Rory’s mothers house) because of the design and the glazed link.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? The Lake District in an oak framed house I built myself.

What are your favourite pastimes? Rugby, golf, tennis and walking

Will Rumney

 unnamed-56
Will joined us in August 2015 and is currently completing an NVQ level 2 in Structural Post & Beam Carpentry. He plays trombone in a band called Antelope and can often be heard flexing his vocal chords in the workshop!

What’s your favourite EOB project? The 9 bay oval garage in Sandwich, Kent because of the interesting shaped trusses and curved ridges & purlins. (See more in our blog here)

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Just past the Blue Jay on the East Webburn River in Dartmoor.

What are your favourite pastimes? Antelope (my band), pottery, wheelwrighting & scuba diving

Dexter Buxton
unnamed-57
Dexter joined us in January 2014 and is the youngest member of staff. He has recently completed his NVQ level 2 in Structural Post & Beam Carpentry. Since joining he is on his fourth car – good job his carpentry skills are better than his driving skills!
What’s your favourite EOB project? Buttermere Stables because of the shape and size (read our Buttermere Stables blog here)
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Southern Spain in an oak framed house I built myself.
