Oak contains its own natural defence against rot and insect attack and in many cases out live most kinds of stone in construction.

English Oak Buildings is committed to using English oak from sustainable sources within the UK, stimulating the English forestry industry, whilst reducing unnecessary transportation of materials. With no industrial process, toxic treatments and harmful waste English oak has one of the lowest embodied energy counts of any constructional material.
