Design & Build
All of our frames are individually designed and built by hand in our workshop, one of the largest of its kind in the country. Our specialist team of designers and carpenters fuse the benefits of modern technology with that of traditional quality.
Our experts will meet with you; listen to your ideas, working through your design to produce accurate costing for the frame. From these discussions we will create a scheme of drawings specific to your project using computer-aided-design (CAD).
Once a design is agreed our engineer will provide structural calculations to satisfy building control. We then fabricate the structure within the workshop on our purpose made framing floor. We use a traditional and precise method of joinery called ‘the scribe rule’. Each timber in the frame is individually scribed into position above a life size drawing on the floor. Joints are cut by hand and fixed using hand made oak pegs.
Our attention to tradition and detail enables us to deliver accurate structures that we can raise, with the help of a crane, in as little as a day.
